Just for fun, I went through that Web 2.0 Awards list and seized on http://www.last.fm/ -- which is a "radio station". I wonder how or if it will translate to my blog. As for "work", see Zoho Show (for online slide presentations) just to the right.
It has kept me hopping. It also caused me to stretch a bit more than I might have if I wasn't required to explore these sites with their various applications. I probably would have found my way to a few because I had already signed up for an iGoogle page and that has many fun and useful gadgets/tools/widgets easily accessible with the account. I have enjoyed the process and I hope to continue with many of the sites. Yes, we can put some of this to work on our webpage and we should.
Reviewing Overdrive
Once upon a time, I actually had downloaded a book/or chapters of a book to my computer from Overdrive. I have a new computer now, so it's lost. I know that there are ebooks, audio, music etc. I remember that I have to download the software first and then select a title. When I "win" an mp3 I will have motivation to act.
This is an Eastern European rock song lip-synched by this over the top computer jockey. What he lacks in production value, he makes up for in enthusiasm. It's a lively tune and I wonder exactly what it means. A peppy love song -- no doubt.
This was a huge hit on YouTube and it proves that it is a democratic/populist kind of a site where any old joe can become an internet star.
It took me a little bit of work to upload this and it is best activated by clicking the arrow next to the red dial below the video picture.

My new challenge is producing decent presentations for class consumption, this is worth a look
....already I tire of the standard PowerPoint presentation. The same old backgrounds and same old style.
My recent classes have required me to use my rather pedestrian PowerPoint skills for projects and I wonder how I can make them more interesting and engaging for those who must be present for the show.
Death by PowerPoint is actually a helpful tutorial on how to package your presentation for enjoyable viewing.

I couldn't get lastfm to work on my blog the way I wanted to - did you have luck with it? And did you use zoho for a presentation? What did you think?
PS You are such a good writer!
